In 2007 I sat next to a gifted lady at a seminar for 3 days in Houston, Texas.From time to time Deni has shared her thoughts and messages.I'm hoping to encourage Deni to create her blog soooo........

Today I would very much like to introduce you to the talented Ms. Denise Alvarez author of this article.

Around a week ago, I left my apt to catch the bus to the supermarket. Like many times, I was drained by week's end from my job. I remember having a bad tension headache that, stubbornly, wouldn't go away.

I walked a quick pace to the bus stop because the bus would be coming at any moment, and I've missed quite a few here in Florida when heading somewhere. In my peripheral view, I could see someone cycling down the street, opposite the direction I was walking in. I wasn't going to pay any particular attention to the person headed in my direction, I was on a mission and not in the best of moods.

The cyclist out on the edge of the street approached as I kept my sight and pace fixed. All of a sudden, I hear a voice cheerfully say, "Hello!" Since I usually return a friendly greeting, and not wishing to be rude, I looked in the direction of the voice. A woman who, at first glance, appeared to have some disabilities, was flashing the biggest smile at me, after having cheerfully greeted me. Her eyes and face glowed. I smiled back. The woman continued on her way, as I went on mine.

Simple occurrence, but here is what touched me... This person seemed to be out not just for a bicycle ride but, seemingly, on a mission to greet as many people as she encountered on her ride. She was out to perform a job and she likely did it with tens of people, if not more, before her trip was over. Her smile was something I briefly looked at, but her energy was something that mysteriously clung to me. In an instant, it mellowed me out.

I continued on my trip, boarding my bus, and heading to my supermarket. When I got off my stop, instead of heading straight to the store, I walked down to the St Johns River. I decided to hit the 'pause button' in my day and engage in a little consciousness of the beauty around me. I listened to the lap of the waves hitting the wall I sat on, I felt the breeze caress my skin, and I just took in the stillness of everything else around.

I eventually did get to the supermarket, but not before I had taken a one-hour walk, after sitting there for awhile, and discovered a park nearby. There, I again paused and just breathed, taking in the sounds of the river, as well as children's voices as they played and flew kites. Of course, not surprisingly, my headache kept diminishing in intensity as time wore on.

What a wonderful gift that smile was to me, causing me to hit the pause button in my life, allowing me to indulge in things around me, and allowing me to heal. Amazing that both good and bad energies can cling to us for so long...

The Law of Vibration

Everything in the Universe vibrates ... nothing rests. “We really do live in
an ocean of motion.” This is where your intuitive factor is used (or should be).
You can use it to pick up other people’s vibrations. When you consciously
become aware of vibrations, you call them feelings. When you feel bad, you
can change your feelings by thinking good thoughts. When you pick up a bad
feeling from another person ... you know they must be thinking disturbing
thoughts. You must not let their negative vibrations affect your way of thinking.

Your thoughts are vibrations that you send off into the universe. When you
concentrate, the vibrations are stronger. Your thoughts are cosmic waves of
energy that penetrate all time and space (vibrations). Thought is the most potent
vibration and remember that you can think ... that makes you a very special
creation (God’s greatest masterpiece.) You should always be delighted with
yourself. (All creation begins in thought.) Your thought controls the vibration
your physical body is in. Dis-ease is a body that is not at ease.

1.Your conscious awareness of vibration is referred to as “feeling” ... therefore,
when you say, “I feel bad,” or “I feel great,” you are declaring that you are
in either a negative or a positive vibration.

2.Mind is movement. The law of vibration decrees that everything moves,
nothing rests.

3.The brain is the instrument you use to move your entire being into a different
vibration. The brain is your vibratory switching station.

4.Your brain will not think, but you think with your brain. Your brain is
something you have to use to improve your life.

5.When you say you “think” or you say you are “thinking something,” what
you are really doing is choosing to activate certain brain cells. They, in
turn, affect your central nervous system and you move into whatever vibration
those particular cells govern.

6.Brain cells are where you store mental pictures or images. If the cells you
activate have sad or negative images, you will move into a negative vibration
and feel bad. If they have happy images, you will move into a positive
vibration and feel good. Choose happy pictures and you must feel good.
Vibration is everything.

The sound of God evolves through the Law of Vibration.
Ignore logic and follow that “gut feeling.” God is speaking to you.

Letter for Mother's Day Delivered to Mom almost 50 Years Later Lost in Mail System

A Navy Wave wrote home to her mother while away at Dental Tech. School in California.

Strange as it may seem, the letter was lost in mail system for almost 50 years. When local post office went to renovate building, a bag of mail was found that was never delivered.

May 1963

Dear Mom,

Dental Tech School is long and hard, but I am holding my own.

With your birthday and Mother's day so close this year, I thought I would design a card just for you.

Mom, these words are from my heart to your heart.

Thank you for being my Mom.

Thank you for always believing in me.

Thank you for not telling Dad when I messed up on my report card in my senior year.

Thank you for understanding I needed to join the Navy to grow up and be on my own.

Thank you for taking me to Sunday School each Sunday, with Aunt Mary.

Thank you for signing me up for tap dancing lessons, knowing I had two left feet.

Thank you for my allowance of $5 a week, I know it put a strain on your budget with Dad not always working.

Thank you for showing me how to clean a house properly. Here at the base, it sure has come in handy.

I love you Mom, I just don't know how to deal with Daddy anymore. Believe me when I say, I left home to find myself and become a person who helps others. What ever job I end up in, I want to be just like you Mom. You are always so caring and understanding. You make a difference to any one who comes into your store, for a bottle of milk, newspaper, or just to speak with you.

I have watched you in your candy store , be treated poorly by some and some who skipped out on their bill. Mom, you never once complained or even got angry.You said they must need it more than us.

The family that you help support monthly down south, with ten dollars you send faithfully, even though we struggle ourselves.

The 18 year old was me. That was many moons ago. My Mom never received the letter, so I went to her grave with flowers and read it to her.

My mother was my best friend, oh, how I miss her.

If your Mom is still alive, let her know while she can still hear and see you, how much love and gratitude is in your heart.

My family, like many, was dysfunctional, but still I loved them and freed myself from future quilt by letting them know I may not like their behavior, but I loved them.

I'm most grateful for all my life's experiences. They have made me what I am today. They were all blessings in disguise to help me grow. Challenges are there to give us an opportunity to change and grow into the person we are meant to be.

What are Sugar Alcohols? Affiliate Jim Jackson recently asked this question when he noticed that they were an ingredient of the Appetizer Diet Cookie. Here Jana Mitcham responds to Jim's question:

Dear Jim,

Sugar alcohols (according to the "Yale-New Haven Hospital Nutrition Advisor") occur naturally in foods and come from plants (depends on the type of sugar alcohol) such as fruits, vegetables, seaweed, cereals, mushrooms, and berries. They are not the same as alcohol nor do they contain ethanol (found in alcoholic beverages) and they are not artificial sweeteners. They are used as sweeteners and bulking agents in place of sugar because they generally are just as sweet as sugar, contain fewer calories (about 1/2 to 1/3), don't cause tooth decay like sugar, are converted to glucose more slowly than sugar, require little or no insulin to be metabolized and don't cause sudden increases in blood sugar. Yale-New Haven points out that this makes them popular with diabetics; and thus are found in many "sugar free" hard candies, cookies, chewing gums, soft drinks, toothpastes, mouthwashes and throat lozenges.

The most common side effect (reported with consumption of in excess of 15 grams and also common with over-indulgence with fruit sugars and fruit juices) is the possibility of bloating or a laxative effect--again when eaten in excessive amounts. The American Diabetes Association claims that sugar alcohols are acceptable in moderate amounts--over-indulgence does provide calories and carbohydrates.

The common sugar alcohols are mannitol, sorbitol, xylitol, lactitol,isomalt and maltitol. You will often see them in foods posting a "Net Carbohydrate" count. A "Net Carbohydrate " count for low carbohydrate dieters is the total number of carbohydrates in a product less carbohydrates from fiber and sugar alcohols. This is due to the slower manner in which it converts to glucose and the fact that it doesn't cause sudden increases in blood sugar. Thus, the Appetizer Diet Cookie, which has a total carbohydrate count of 22 grams, would only count as 11 Net Carbohydrates (subtract out the 3 grams of carbs from sugar alcohols and 8 grams from fiber). This is especially important for people following Atkins or other low carbohydrate diet guidelines.

Once again, sugar alcohols are neither sugars nor alcohol—it is just that part of their structure resembles sugar and the other part is similar to alcohol. They are naturally occurring: Mannitol comes from pineapple, olives, asparagus, sweet potatoes or carrots and Xylitol from fruit, cereals, mushrooms, etc. Different sugar alcohols come from different natural sources.

I came to understand the difference between a legitimate multi-level marketing business and an illegal pyramid scheme. Things began to make sense. I could now see WHY the concept of leveraging effort and residual income appealed to so many. And even more so, HOW it could help me reach my personal and financial goals.

My second career, as a Professional Network Marketer, continues to let me interact and help people; but now, I can be more proactive—I can reach out to people, help them identify and pursue their dreams, not wait for injury or illness to bring them across my path.

In conjunction with building my home-business, I chose to share with others the education and support I was so freely given. Today I would like to highlight Cheryl Henderson-Khalid, a Mom who Home School's her children while building a business from home.

Hi. My name is Cheryl Henderson-Khalid. I am from New York City, married with three children, three fish, two cats and one dog. I also homeschool my children, so if you were to visit me you'd always find something interesting going on. My husband and I met while working at Morgan Stanley and we've been together for over ten years. He's very sweet and supportive. I think I'll keep him.

I am the youngest of six children and maybe that's the reason that I have always had a different slant on life. I started working when I was 14 and after high school I went out and got a full-time job. And I hated it. I hated the office politics, the backstabbing and all of the other situations that offices breed. Then I discovered the wonderful world of temporary employment. I could take an assignment, work for a few days or a few months, and then move on to the next assignment. I enjoyed the variety, the learning curves and best of all the lack of office drama. I was under the radar because I was just "the temp".

Although temping was a great experience for me overall, I really wanted to be my own boss. So I took certification classes and became a notereader/scopist (the people who transcribe what a court reporter types), medical transcription and a host of other things. What I was seeking, although I didn't know it, was a business to call my very own.

My first introduction to network marketing was in the 1990s. At the time I didn't know that my vitamin company was a network marketing business. I did well with business, I think, because of my enthusiasm for how their products enhanced my health. See, I just loved my products and told people how they helped me. People wanted to see if it would work for them and my business grew. Unfortunately I moved after being in the business for a couple of years, and since the Internet wasn't much of a force at the time, my customer base dropped off since I couldn't easily deliver products to people who lived two states away.

In 2000 my niece joined her first network marketing company. She sat me down and explained how the network marketing business model worked and why I should get involved. See, in my former company I was doing retailing or direct sales, not network marketing. To do network marketing effectively you need to have a group of people working together. This was a new concept for me, but what a concept. Get a group of like-minded people together and build a team that helps everyone earn money. Wow!

Unfortunately for me, I stopped doing what came naturally for me and started following the script. I did what my upline said without asking questions, I followed the old procedure of "make a list of 100 friends and family" and the rest of the litany. I stopped doing what worked for me (which was going with my passion and talking to people in a way that was natural for me. And when that happened, my business dropped off. I started getting stressed out about results which, of course, just made everything worse.

If I had one piece of advice to give a network marketing newbie it would be to keep your credit card in your pocket. Use your card only for purchasing the products you'd like to sell, not on leads and other cash wasters. Through a plethora of free e-books and other training I've learned that the most important thing to do is to grow a list of people who want to learn more about your business and products. This doesn't require money (or at least not much money). It requires a plan and the resolve to do the grunt work (as well as the cool stuff). In network marketing you can grow as quickly or as slowly as you want to, this isn't a job, it's your business, so treat it as such.

These days I'm running with my passions which are homeschooling and family. I am constructing a website that will help other homeschoolers learn how to work at home while educating their children,, as well as a blog entitled Homeschooling WAHM and one that is more about my personal Journey to Success. My goal is to share the experiences and information I've gleaned over the years to help other moms (and dads) to finance their goals. I have learned innumerable lessons along the way. I've learned marketing, relationship building by recognizing dominant personality traits, developing self-discipline and being consistent with my advertising strategies, how to be a positive force in the lives of others . Someone once said that network marketing is a process of self-discovery attached to a compensation plan and I've found that to be very true. And of course, lots of great friends from around the globe. These are some of my favorite hangouts. If you need any help or just an encouraging word stop by and say "hello".

Thank You Gavin for this wonderful opportunity to be seen by a new audience. What a great journey this will be. I have such respect and admiration for Gavin, his skills and willingness to help so many. One just has to read his blog, or look at Gavin's You Tube to understand the quality and integrity that flashes before your eyes.

I'm so grateful for coming from a dysfunctional family where I fought many demons and obstacles to raise myself to the top. They were all lessons to be learned, to be become successful. By becoming a Great Over Comer made me appreciate life and all it holds for the dreamer. Experience is the Best Teacher.

I was 38 when I worked full time and went to college full time at night for 6 years to reach one of my many dreams. Being a special education teacher and then Teacher of a Computer Lab was a terrific time in my life. Before retiring, ten years out, I went looking for another business to accomplish my other goals and help people. This time I choose Network Marketing, to be in business for myself but not by myself.

During this time I met my soul mate and husband, Charles Rothfuss 15 younger than me.
Like many couples we had our challenges. After 11 years of marriage, I felt like a failure and divorced. After a long year on my own, I went into many dark tunnels of my life to fight my way back. Realizing my mistake, I asked Charles for forgiveness and we now live as best friends together, stronger and a deeper relationship than before. That's what you call transformation!

Why do I start my story out telling you this? It's not what happens to you, it's how you handle what happens to you that counts in this thing, called life. It's your mindset!

Some one asked me why I choose Network Marketing and my answer is, " I have a passion for helping others". "It feels good making a difference to help people over come barriers and obstacles to move forward in their life, in such a way that is positive and appropriate for them.

One needs tools and skills to be successful in Network Marketing, which 98% don't know how or where to begin. Too many distractions and invalid information. It can be over whelming.

The true secret is to help build people! One must help them get what they want, not what you want for them. It's so easy to transfer one's own feelings and project onto others.
As one grows as a strong mentor and life coach, you learn very quickly to ask questions of a person, rather than give advise!

Give each person skills to make their own decisions and discoveries. That is done by helping them go inside themselves. The answer is never outside them, all the answers they need they already have. Just direct them inside themselves. They are smarter and wiser than they give themselves credit for.

Gavin asked me to describe myself, so these words are me.

ARE YOU IN A 5 PILLAR COMPANY?

When this question was first posed to me, I didn't have a clue as to what they were asking.

I felt stupid and embarresed that as a business owner, even though part time, I didn't have an answer.

The thought went through my mind, how serious are you, Lynn at being a business owner that you don't know? What other information should I know?

From that day, I got an education in MLM 101 using a system that claimed to be free.

They also talked about the other business skills neded to be successful in Network Marketing, that no one else talkes about

1.Compensation Plans,
2.Business Model drives the behavior in the field,
3.Color Personalities and how it pertains to MLM business,
4.How to get free leads for your business,
5.Target Marketing.

WOW all this for FREE?!!
I could not believe it, could this be possible?

All this is done by calling in and connecting to a conference bridge, listen and take notes. They even have a Replay line 24/7.

Wait, it gets better. I found a Mentor for Free. My mentor who shares and holds me responsible for my action plans made by me. A friend of mine, is paying $$$$ Big Bucks for a mentor.

The best part about having a mentor is two fold, one helps me stay focused, and two, helping me a better mentor to my team. It's so great to discuss and talk things over with some one out side my family. Someone who is where I want to be.

WHAT A 5 PILLAR COMPANY LOOKS LIKE

Pillar 1. Does the company management have integrity?

Do a Google search on the company owner(s).
If the owner has had any experience in building a network marketing downline then the compensation plan with be "Distributor minded".
The plan will be easy to build a business with, there will be an excellent support system in place.

If however, the owner(s) have never built a downline, it will show in the compensation plan which will be "Company minded".

Distributors will find it very difficult to make money if they can at all.

Another thing to consider is the Policies & Procedures.
Are they readily available to read before you sign up?
If not, they may have something to hide.

For instance, one company I recently was looking at, (insurance) in the P&P's, if you had someone purchase a policy from you and they later canceled, you had to pay the difference.

This is something they will not share openly, but will cost you greatly in the end.

Pillar 2. Timing in the company; Timing in the industry!

Approximately 92% of new companies fail.
If the company does not own it's own software program, they will have problems with it most of the time.

They will have to hire someone to tweak it here and there, they will not be able to maintain the website themselves.

This can be very costly. It is preferred to join a company that has been in business for 2 years or more.

Timing in the company - should the company your with be past the growth phase - it will be very difficult to build a large business - the right company should be entering or in the momentum phase of their growth

Pillar 3. MLM products!

Most companies do have remarkable products.
You need to ask your self this question, "would you buy the product yourself if there was not a business opportunity involved?"

If you join this company do you get a discount? If so, what is the product really worth?
This type of behavior indicates a Recruiting mentality.
If you are only recruiting, you are only building a temporary paycheck.
You have to have retail sales to develop a true residual income.

Think of it this way, a stock broker sells stocks, but if no one buys from the store what good are the stocks? You have no outside income coming in.

Pillar 4. Network Marketing Compensation Plan.

A good compensation plan is one that pays the most with the least amount of people in your downline.
Does the plan pay on your total volume, or does it pay on specific numbers of levels, or stop after a set depth.
Does it pay part-timers?
Do you make money on retail sales? If it is less then 7%, that will kill you!!
There is a simple formula that will show
you exactly how many people you will need in your organization, to make your desired monthly income.

How much money do you make per person, per spot, and divide that by your desired month income.
This simple formula will give you the exact number of people you will need in your organization.
Once you have that figure, ask yourself if this is something you think you can reasonable achieve.
Then ask your self is this something that your team will be able to achieve as well.
Is this system duplicateable, can you teach others to do it with in reason?

Pillar 5. MLM Systems for Success!

It is absolutely imperative that you have a system that is duplicateable.
PEOPLE are not duplicateable, SYSTEMS ARE!!

So when your new distributor asks, "can I do this, and will you help me" will you be able to?
Network marketing is about building relationships and trust.

People join People, they do not join COMPANIES!! If they do they do not stay long.
