Laura Lucas, Your Friend in Kentucky

Hello Friends, it's an honor to introduce Laura Lucas from Kentucky.

Laura is a very talented Network Marketer that brings common sense and great manners to a new level. Laura is well known for being a leader who brings out the Best in every one on her team. If you should ever get to Kentucky be sure to look Laura up, she is one of the finest cooks and her specialty is soy cooking. Be sure to look at her blogs for the newest recipe.

Who am I?? YOUR FRIEND IN KENTUCKY, Laura Lucas

I am a woman, firstborn, Professional Network Marketer, friend, Virgo, student, mentor, Occupational Therapist, daughter, sister, teacher, coach, creator, and cook to mention the highlights who lives in Kentucky, USA.

My first career is in Occupational Therapy. I help people return to the meaningful activities of their daily life after injury or illness, focusing on what they want and need to "do" to function at their best. Sometimes this means showing people a new or different way to get things done. So largely my job centers on "teaching" and "coaching." However, in my health care profession I generally only get to work with people after a problem presents itself.

So HOW does this relate to NetWork Marketing?

For a number of years I watched someone close to my heart FAIL repeatedly and lose thousands of dollars in what he referred to as "network marketing opportunities."

At that time, I could see that several of these "opportunities" didn't make sense. However, I lacked the knowledge to understand HOW or WHY they wouldn't work. At that time, I was unable to help that person pursue what was most meaningful to them.

I actually came to DESPISE the term NetWork Marketing.

THEN, I got educated!!

s introduced to a team of people willing to educate others for *FREE, in any company.
I came to understand the difference between a legitimate multi-level marketing business and an illegal pyramid scheme. Things began to make sense. I could now see WHY the concept of leveraging effort and residual income appealed to so many. And even more so, HOW it could help me reach my personal and financial goals.

My second career, as a Professional Network Marketer, continues to let me interact and help people; but now, I can be more proactive—I can reach out to people, help them identify and pursue their dreams, not wait for injury or illness to bring them across my path.

In conjunction with building my home-business, I chose to share with others the education and support I was so freely given. I am now apart of the team of Volunteer Mentors, with Mentoring For Free, who teach others "How to think, not what to think" and the skills to build the business of your choice using a proven system.

I want to be YOUR FRIEND IN KENTUCKY.

Hello My friends,

Today I would like to highlight Cheryl Henderson-Khalid, a Mom who Home School's her children while building a business from home.

Very Inspiring, Read and Visit Cheryl's site and share it with your friends.

Hi. My name is Cheryl Henderson-Khalid. I am from New York City, married with three children, three fish, two cats and one dog. I also homeschool my children, so if you were to visit me you'd always find something interesting going on. My husband and I met while working at Morgan Stanley and we've been together for over ten years. He's very sweet and supportive. I think I'll keep him.

I am the youngest of six children and maybe that's the reason that I have always had a different slant on life. I started working when I was 14 and after high school I went out and got a full-time job. And I hated it. I hated the office politics, the backstabbing and all of the other situations that offices breed. Then I discovered the wonderful world of temporary employment. I could take an assignment, work for a few days or a few months, and then move on to the next assignment. I enjoyed the variety, the learning curves and best of all the lack of office drama. I was under the radar because I was just "the temp".

Although temping was a great experience for me overall, I really wanted to be my own boss. So I took certification classes and became a notereader/scopist (the people who transcribe what a court reporter types), medical transcription and a host of other things. What I was seeking, although I didn't know it, was a business to call my very own.

My first introduction to network marketing was in the 1990s. At the time I didn't know that my vitamin company was a network marketing business. I did well with business, I think, because of my enthusiasm for how their products enhanced my health. See, I just loved my products and told people how they helped me. People wanted to see if it would work for them and my business grew. Unfortunately I moved after being in the business for a couple of years, and since the Internet wasn't much of a force at the time, my customer base dropped off since I couldn't easily deliver products to people who lived two states away.

In 2000 my niece joined her first network marketing company. She sat me down and explained how the network marketing business model worked and why I should get involved. See, in my former company I was doing retailing or direct sales, not network marketing. To do network marketing effectively you need to have a group of people working together. This was a new concept for me, but what a concept. Get a group of like-minded people together and build a team that helps everyone earn money. Wow!

Unfortunately for me, I stopped doing what came naturally for me and started following the script. I did what my upline said without asking questions, I followed the old procedure of "make a list of 100 friends and family" and the rest of the litany. I stopped doing what worked for me (which was going with my passion and talking to people in a way that was natural for me. And when that happened, my business dropped off. I started getting stressed out about results which, of course, just made everything worse.

If I had one piece of advice to give a network marketing newbie it would be to keep your credit card in your pocket. Use your card only for purchasing the products you'd like to sell, not on leads and other cash wasters. Through a plethora of free e-books and other training I've learned that the most important thing to do is to grow a list of people who want to learn more about your business and products. This doesn't require money (or at least not much money). It requires a plan and the resolve to do the grunt work (as well as the cool stuff). In network marketing you can grow as quickly or as slowly as you want to, this isn't a job, it's your business, so treat it as such.

These days I'm running with my passions which are homeschooling and family. I am constructing a website that will help other homeschoolers learn how to work at home while educating their children,, as well as a blog entitled Homeschooling WAHM and one that is more about my personal Journey to Success. My goal is to share the experiences and information I've gleaned over the years to help other moms (and dads) to finance their goals. I have learned innumerable lessons along the way. I've learned marketing, relationship building by recognizing dominant personality traits, developing self-discipline and being consistent with my advertising strategies, how to be a positive force in the lives of others . Someone once said that network marketing is a process of self-discovery attached to a compensation plan and I've found that to be very true. And of course, lots of great friends from around the globe. These are some of my favorite hangouts. If you need any help or just an encouraging word stop by and say "hello".

Lynn Rothfuss

Lynn Rothfuss here from the USA.

Thank You Gavin for this wonderful opportunity to be seen by a new audience. What a great journey this will be. I have such respect and admiration for Gavin, his skills and willingness to help so many. One just has to read his blog, or look at Gavin's You Tube to understand the quality and integrity that flashes before your eyes.

I'm so grateful for coming from a dysfunctional family where I fought many demons and obstacles to raise myself to the top. They were all lessons to be learned, to be become successful. By becoming a Great Over Comer made me appreciate life and all it holds for the dreamer. Experience is the Best Teacher.

I was 38 when I worked full time and went to college full time at night for 6 years to reach one of my many dreams. Being a special education teacher and then Teacher of a Computer Lab was a terrific time in my life. Before retiring, ten years out, I went looking for another business to accomplish my other goals and help people. This time I choose Network Marketing, to be in business for myself but not by myself.

During this time I met my soul mate and husband, Charles Rothfuss 15 younger than me.
Like many couples we had our challenges. After 11 years of marriage, I felt like a failure and divorced. After a long year on my own, I went into many dark tunnels of my life to fight my way back. Realizing my mistake, I asked Charles for forgiveness and we now live as best friends together, stronger and a deeper relationship than before. That's what you call transformation!

Why do I start my story out telling you this? It's not what happens to you, it's how you handle what happens to you that counts in this thing, called life. It's your mindset!

Some one asked me why I choose Network Marketing and my answer is, " I have a passion for helping others". "It feels good making a difference to help people over come barriers and obstacles to move forward in their life, in such a way that is positive and appropriate for them.

One needs tools and skills to be successful in Network Marketing, which 98% don't know how or where to begin. Too many distractions and invalid information. It can be over whelming.

The true secret is to help build people! One must help them get what they want, not what you want for them. It's so easy to transfer one's own feelings and project onto others.
As one grows as a strong mentor and life coach, you learn very quickly to ask questions of a person, rather than give advise!

Give each person skills to make their own decisions and discoveries. That is done by helping them go inside themselves. The answer is never outside them, all the answers they need they already have. Just direct them inside themselves. They are smarter and wiser than they give themselves credit for.

Gavin asked me to describe myself, so these words are me.

Lynn is a healer, angel, mentor, life coach, nutrition consultant, teacher, motivational speaker, raw food user, personal growth expert, team builder, organizational specialist, people driven architect, wellness advisor, juice machine enthusiast, forgiveness therapeutic genius, seeker of continues knowledge, partnership with like minded people, circle of influence developer, video producer, self taught computer and Internet user, writer, author, emotional clutter remover specialist.

I didn't come by these skills and training by accident, they came on my journey of self discovery. Life is one lesson after another. Life is about learning who we are, and our purpose for being here. By being open and positive one can achieve anything.

I saw the big picture of network marketing as a viable answer to invest in. With the internet and a cell phone and now with the a tool as skype, it's easier to be a global business women.

In my collection I have many cd's and books, I use the knowledge from them, to Build People. To view them you can go to my blog where they are all listed, http://candoexpressway.blogspot.com. I value every ones comments and would love to have other people contribute an article on my blog since it is a generic web site. Feel free to post mp3 files and videos of popular interest to all network marketers. We are here to help each other!
" It's about giving back. My mission statement is " I Will Be The Change I Want To See"

Lead Generation is vital for obtaining people to build a relationship with and partner with serious networkers. I use many ways to Brand Myself.

To stay on the cutting edge, I 'm always on the look out for what's new and happening.
Here are a few that bring good results.
